These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of LeagueRun (the "Service"), available at leaguerun.io, operated by GizmoBuild, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company ("GizmoBuild," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
LeagueRun is a league management platform for recreational sports councils. It turns family registrations into balanced teams across sports, and lets commissioners rebalance as registrations change.
2. Accounts and Roles
- Council administrators and commissioners must be adults (18+) authorized to act for their sports council or league.
- Families registering participants must be adults (18+) — a parent or legal guardian registering their own child, or an adult registering themselves.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account.
3. Registration Data and Participants Who Are Minors
Registrations typically include information about youth participants — names, ages, and sport or team preferences ("Participant Data").
- Participant Data about a minor may only be submitted by that minor's parent or legal guardian, or by a council administrator acting on a registration the family submitted.
- The council is the steward of its league's data. Councils are responsible for using Participant Data only for league operations and for honoring family requests to correct or remove information; we will assist on request.
- The Service does not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information directly, contact us and we will remove it.
- Do not submit sensitive participant information (medical details beyond what your council's registration form explicitly requires, government IDs, or similar) unless the registration form specifically and lawfully collects it.
4. Fees and Payments
- Council pricing is flat-rate and quoted per council; specific terms are set out in your council's order or quote.
- Registration fees paid by families are passed through to the council at cost, less standard third-party payment-processing fees. GizmoBuild adds no platform markup on registrations and does not store payment card details; payments are handled by our payment processor.
- Refunds of registration fees are governed by your council's refund policy, not by GizmoBuild. Councils are responsible for communicating their refund policy to families.
5. Team Balancing Is Decision Support
Team-balancing output is generated from the registration data provided. GizmoBuild does not guarantee any particular team composition, competitive fairness outcome, or compliance with your league's bylaws. Final team assignments are the council's decision and responsibility.
6. Your Content
Councils and families retain ownership of the data they submit. You grant GizmoBuild a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, and process that data solely to operate and improve the Service.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose; not to submit data about individuals without authorization; not to probe, disrupt, or circumvent security; and not to resell the Service without our written agreement.
8. Termination
Councils may terminate per their order terms; families may request removal of their registration data through their council or directly from us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these Terms, and may discontinue the Service with reasonable notice and a data-export window for councils.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE SERVICE IS AN ADMINISTRATIVE TOOL; IT HAS NO ROLE IN PARTICIPANT SUPERVISION OR SAFETY.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GIZMOBUILD'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS THE RELEVANT COUNCIL PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR $50 FOR USERS ON FREE ACCESS). WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT FULLY APPLY TO YOU.
11. Indemnification
You will indemnify and hold harmless GizmoBuild from claims arising out of data you submit (including Participant Data submitted without required authorization), your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced on the site or by email before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by Maryland law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maryland.
